Odiham & Hook Rotary Club

Submitted by otmg on Thu, 2006-06-22 15:34.

Details:
Rotary International is a global network of service volunteers. It is the world's largest service organisation for business and professional people, with some 1,210,905 members operating in 168 countries world-wide.
There are some 58,000 Rotarians in Great Britain and Ireland in 1,845 clubs, helping those in need and working towards world understanding and peace. Its a fulfilling role, and Rotarians can get involved as much or as little as their time will allow.
But there is much more. Clubs meet on a regular basis, which allows members to build firm friendships. Every Rotarian has a right to attend any Club meeting anywhere in the world, so there is always somewhere to go, and people to meet, wherever business or leisure travel may take you.
Various Clubs have different emphases, which can reflect differences in size. A small market town may have a Club of perhaps 20 members, whereas in large centres the number can be closer to 100. Some concentrate on local community or vocational projects. Others link up with a sister club in another country to undertake an international project. Each Club decides how it wants to use the resources it has available.
The Odiham & Hook Rotary Club Meet at The George Hotel on Tuesdays at 19.30.

Odiham Pre-School (Leap Frogs)

Submitted by otmg on Tue, 2006-01-31 22:06.

Address:
Recreation Road, Odiham, RG29 1NU

Details:
There has been a community-run playschool in Odiham for over 20 years and our aim has always been to provide high quality education for pre-school children in our area.
Our building is perfectly suited to the needs of the pre-school children: we have a large entrance hall, a large main classroom and a new, smaller classroom where small groups of children can be taken for quiet reading and a basic introduction to computers. In addition, we have a large top room, which is used for indoor games and PE, a kitchen area, an office, two storerooms, dedicated children’s toilets, and adult toilets.
In addition, we have an enclosed grassed area for picnics and outside play; and use of the adjacent public basketball courts where the children can ride their bikes, scooters etc. There is also a children’s playground within the same area, where the children can play (supervised by their own carers) before and after the pre-school sessions.
We are proud of the facilities that we offer to the pre-school children and work hard to maintain them to such an excellent standard.
