Thursday Nights Are Music Nights At the Horns Crondall
Thursday Night Music Nights at the Horns, Crondall
Regular acoustic music nights on Thursdays at the Horns, Crondall are proving to be a hit with music lovers and the performers themselves.
Starting at around 8.30pm and running through to 11pm this free session has showcased a wide range of local talent offering classic covers and has also featured some very good singer songwriters.
Next week (29th April) Martin Wood, who is heavily influenced by old delta blues musicians such as Robert Johnson, plays a haunting set featuring some nifty slide guitar work. Martin will also bring along a few friends who are talented musicians in their own right and they will gig together.
The well known Vic Cracknell who plays in a number of local bands is also a keen supporter of the Horns’ music initiative and regularly hosts evenings where he plays a couple of sets as well as introducing other acts.
Landlord of the Horns, John Staniland, who used to be a regular visitor to the Blues Tavern in Hale a few years back, and would like to repeat that sort of vibe, is pleased how things are going and really wants to put the pub on the local music map. “We are keen to give an opportunity for any good acoustic musicians to come down and play and also are on the lookout for full bands to play on weekend evenings and at our planned festivals.” Anyone interested should phone 01252 850560 or email johnstaniland@hotmail.com
